Love Your Food Locally Sourced And Sustainable? Longueville Manor Is The Hotel Of Your Dreams

Nestled in an 18-acre estate at the foot of one of Jersey’s most beautiful valleys sits Longueville Manor, one of the island’s most highly acclaimed hotels. Surrounded by woodland, fields and gardens, the independently-owned and managed Longueville Manor has been restored from a historic country house to a beautiful boutique hotel by the Lewis family throughout four generations.

So what's the vibe like?

Only a 15-minute journey from Jersey Airport, the hotel has 30 bedrooms, many with original antique furniture, individually designed with personally chosen textiles and art. The hotel is also home to two dining spaces, its own Victorian kitchen garden and a boutique spa.

Tell me more about that spa...

You've got to spend some time at the Cottage Garden Spa. It offers a range of treatments from British skincare brand REN; including massage, facials and even reflexology. Interestingly, the Cottage Garden is the only spa worldwide to offer Annee De Mamiel’s legendary 90-minute facial - they were only available privately, until now. De Mamiel products are gorgeous and sold in plaves like Space NK, Liberty and Richard Branson’s Necker Island.

Need something to pick you up after all that relaxing?

Why not try some locally sourced cuisine? First, there's the 15th Century Oak Room, an intimate and romantic space surrounded with historic oak paneling or, if that's not your thing, the Garden Room, a lighter, more relaxed space, is perfect for hanging out with friends and family. Executive Chef Andrew Baird offers a range of locally sourced meals including grilled local turbot and local deep water crab and lobster – all caught daily from the surrounding waters! If locally sourced grub really interests you, we suggest you try the Discovery Menu. A delightful seven-course set menu, offering a taste of Jersey’s best local produce, with wine pairing for each dish.

Is everything locally sourced?

Nearly! Jersey royal potatoes, kale and artichokes and so much more are all grown on site. A 16th century crypt lies beneath the manor's garden, which was converted in to a boiler room in the Victorian times and now functions as the Longueville's own smokehouse, meaning they produce their own smoked fish and cured meats. With 24 beehives on site, the hotel also produces all of its own honey, providing enough for both restaurants all year round!

How long should I stay?

Well, it would be very hard to get bored. A rack of Hunter wellies sits by the back door, waiting for guests to explore the many walking trails around the property. And if that’s not enough, there is also a heated pool, croquet lawn and an all-weather tennis court. The hotel also has its own 44 foot long private yacht, the Fizz Too. With two en suite cabins, a luxury saloon, spacious fly bridge, water sports-friendly cockpit and bathing platform, the Fizz Too is available for full and half day trips to other Channel Islands and France. This includes a seafood meal and charcuterie with wine and champagne.

How much does it cost?

Nightly rates start from £195 for two people, including breakfast.
