One of the hardest things for me about traveling is dealing with jet lag. Right now I’m adjusting to a 12 hour time difference. As I fight to adjust quickly and stay awake when I should be awake and sleep when I should sleep, I find myself more awake than sleeping and not feeling fully awake but more like a mindless zombie going through the motions. I feel reactive rather than being active. This also happens when we stop acting from consciousness. And as I struggle to write this post, I move to write with purpose. Purpose is an easy way to understand our actions as being conscious or unconscious actions. Do your actions have purpose behind them or are you mindless zombie going through the motions? When you act from purpose the rewards of your efforts are great. When you just act, very little is accomplished and what is might not always be positive.
