In the beauty world, ‘wavy’ used to refer to beach-esque hair only. Of course, that was during a simpler time – a time before feather brows, glitter tongues and wavy lips. The future is here, people, and we’re scaring the aliens.
According to Instagram, singular arched eyebrows, AKA actual, normal eyebrows are out and wavy/wiggly/squiggly (delete as appropriate) brows and in. At least amongst the bedrooms of YouTubers and Instagrammers…
The bold brow trend is undoubtedly causing waves (ahem) in the beauty world and we’re weirdly fascinated by the whole thing (the pitch meeting for this article was 86% Insta stalking).
To those new to the trend, wavy eyebrows are just that – brows that have been shaped to resembles squiggly lines as a result of Photoshop, arty eyebrow penciling or ample fixing gel. Oh, and wavy lips follow a similar form using different products. We’ve even seen wavy contour, people...
Sure, you risk looking like a baby or drunk adult attacked your face, and granted, wavy brows aren’t for the fainthearted, but they’re not without their benefits. Say you’ve got zero skills in the make-up department - you can run with your wonky brows and rebrand them as #wavybrows. Also you can mess with people. Are you sad? Excited? Confused perhaps? Your eyebrows aren’t giving anything away - endless fun.
