The nominees for the 2017 Fashion Awards in partnership with Swarovski were revealed by the BFC this morning. Once again, Jonathan Anderson dominates proceedings with four nominations - split between his eponymous JW Anderson label and Loewe where he is creative director, while there are also nominations for Alessandro Michele for Gucci, Phoebe Philo for Celine and Raf Simons for Calvin Klein. Additional awards recognising career milestones for certain individuals will be announced in November while the awards themselves will take place at a gala ceremony at London's Royal Albert Hall on December 4th.
Recongising creativity and innovation in fashion, the awards are said to celebrate 'exceptional individuals whose imagination and creativity have broken new ground in fashion globally over the past 12 months as well as brands and businesses that have transformed the possibilities of fashion today.' The awards ceremony itself helps to raise money for future fashion talent, through the BFC Education Foundation the charitable partner to The Fashion Awards 2017 in partnership with Swarovski and offers scholarships alongside funding apprenticeships.
