The Most Magical Unicorn-Inspired Makeup Instagram Has to Offer

Love it or hate it, you can’t deny unicorn-inspired beauty is definitely a thing right now. Whether it’s pastels, rainbows, or some glitter and sparkle, anything that looks playful and magical is automatically unicorn territory in our view.

But as fun as unicorn beauty may be, it’s not always the most easy look to pull off. In honour of festival season, we created a dazzling look that enhances and flatters features that’s really easy to top up throughout all the sets, food truck visits and Portal queuing.

Cheeks. Whether you’re doing glitter, sequins, or shimmer, get this right by finding a mix of flattering shades for your skin tone and layering them for longevity. Choose something lighter than your skin tone for elevated cheekbones. Apply a creamy glitter eyeshadow (or plain Vaseline will work) as your base, tap on some fine glitter, and finish it off with something bigger, bolder, like sequins.

We used: Primark Glitter Obsessed Eye Cream Palette (£4), Topshop Glitter Pot in Disco Ball (£5), The Gypsy Shrine Glitter in Chunky Unicorn (£6.50)

Eyes. To enhance them without overdoing it, choose a pastel eyeliner in the same colour family as the rest of your look, and run it along your lower lash line to open them up and add a touch of fairtytale. Finish with a contrasting coloured mascara and you’re halfway there to being a total unicorn.

We used: MAKE UP FOR EVER Aqua XL Waterproof Eye Pencil in Matte Pastel Blue (£16), Marc Jacobs O!Mega Lash Volumising Mascara in Violet.

Lips. The right hue will pull everything together. Pick something pastel that doesn’t make your skin look too flat, and apply a light layer to the centre of your lips. Blend it out to the edges - and don’t worry about it being too neat, you want this to look diffused and hazy.

We used: MAC Matte Lipstick in Dew

Now, get out there and dazzle!
