How To Beat #BlueMonday By Fitness Blogger Adrienne Herbert
'The festive season is over, the twinkly lights are gone, it's still two weeks until pay day and it's raining. Well, it's no wonder we're feeling a little uninspired! However, I am an eternal optimist and people often ask me how I stay motivated and upbeat all the time, here are my top 5 tips for beating the January blues...
Get Up and Out...
Although you may be tempted to hibernate under your duvet until spring, you'll feel a lot better if you get outside in the fresh air each day. Going for a thirty-minute walk or jog will boost your mood, increase your energy levels, and even increase your creativity too!
Detox...
No I'm not talking about those ridiculous green juice diets! Instead of detoxing your diet, why not try detoxing your relationships. The people you spend the most time with will have a huge impact on you and your life. Don't allow sad sally to bring you down! Step away from toxic relationships and spend more time with people the lift you up and inspire you.
Get Inspired...
The best way to get inspired is to try something new, book a class, read a book AND of course, grab a ticket to the Hoxton Fresh + Fit festival. I'm hosting a workshop about 'Power Hour' where I'll be sharing my ideas and top tips for smashing the day before 9am! See you there!
Be Savvy...
Instead of hunting through the sale rails and spend cash on clothes that you don't really need, try clearing out your wardrobe and selling your unwanted threads online instead. You might be surprised by how many hidden treasure you have at the bottom of that draw. Use the extra money to treat yourself to a facial or book a night in a chic hotel.
Rest and Recover...
Sleep is so underrated! We are a nation of chronically sleep deprived zombies that rely on coffee and alarm clocks. If you're getting less than eight hours of sleep each night, then it could be dramatically affecting you energy, appetite and hormone levels. Do yourself a favour, get to bed early and let your body and mind reboot.
Now in its fourth year, The Hoxton's Fresh + Fit Fest is a free-to-attend, all-day festival which brings together some of the buzziest names in fitness, best classes and trainers, most covetable activewear brands, and tastiest healthy goods together for one of the most talked-about fitness festivals of the year. Classes and talks are ticketed at £5-7 and are available to buy now from here
