Simon Cowell confirms engagement to Mezhgan Hussainy in post-Oscars appearance on Jay Leno

He's known as TV's Mr Nasty, but Simon Cowell yesterday showed off his sensitive side as he confirmed his engagement to Mezhgan Hussainy on US chat show Jay Leno, after enjoying the Oscars 2010 together the night before.

When asked by Jay if he was engaged, the 50-year-old replied: 'Are they true? Well, I do have somebody in my life now, Jay, yes. And I kinda made a decision this year to make somebody happy.'

And the glamorous couple even had a little kiss in front of the audience - cute.

Simon and Mezhgan hit the Oscars 2010 after-parties last night, heading to Elton John's AIDS Foundation bash looking super-stylish.

Mezhgan was yet another star to choose a dress from  Victoria Beckham's collection for a red carpet appearance - and she looked fab in the form-fitting strapless black gown.
