Paris Fashion Week Highlights: Balmain, Elie Saab and more!
Friday 5 March, 2010
As the final leg of fashion month gets underway we turn our attention to the French capital to see what our Parisian friends are forging forward in the oh-so fabulous world of fashion.
Christophe Decarnin stuck to his globally successful rock-chick formula at Balmain (top) mixing it up with a Royal twist. His signature shimmer pieces, skin-tight trousers and jackets galore were infused with brocade jackets and trouser suits, pussy-bow blouses, ribbon lace booties and naval detailing.

As all eyes turned to the Elie Saab (bottom) catwalk it seemed the Oscars had come early with an array of award-winning gowns cascading down the catwalk. Ruffles, draping, twists and turns – you name it, it was there.
Geometric shapes were presented in vibrant colours at Balenciaga and Issey Miyake, while Rick Owen's warrior woman was not to be tested.
It seems there’s something in the air at Paris and simplistic staples we see not! We can’t WAIT for the final shows from the likes of Chanel, Miu Miu, Givenchy and of course the late and dearly beloved Alexander McQueen.
Enjoy!
