Elisabetta Canalis set to star in US TV show

George Clooney's Italian girlfriend Elisabetta Canalis has landed a spot on a US TV show.

The presenter will get to show off her acting talents in five episodes of the TNT drama Leverage - about con artists who exact revenge on people who use wealth and power to victimise others - when the show begins its third season this summer.

According to People magazine, she will play a mysterious woman known as 'the Italian'.

Canalis, 31, who's been dating George, 48, since last summer, is a popular TV presenter and actress in her native Italy. She made her debut 10 years ago on the satirical daily news show, Striscia la Notizia.

Elisabetta is also a model, and looked stunning when she recently promoted underwear for Roberto Cavalli. See the gorgeous video here.
