Sex And The City star Cynthia Nixon debuted her bold new look – a shaved head – at the premiere of her new play Wit in New York

Cynthia Nixon – who shot to fame as Sex And The City’s redhead Miranda – is actually a natural blonde, but her latest hairstyle is a far cry from anything we’ve seen from the glamorous star before.

The actress has shaved her head for her role as a cancer patient in the play Wit, which opened in New York last night. With no hairstyle to play with on the red carpet, Cynthia opted for a striking beauty look with bold black eyeliner and pastel pink cheeks and lips.

Cynthia wore a 50s-style merlot red dress with a full skirt, teamed with champagne-coloured Louboutin stilettos.
