Alexa Chung presents her fashion line for Madewell
Tuesday 16 February, 2010
Though her MTV Show, It's On With Alexa Chung, was cancelled at the end of last year, our favourite fashionista / TV presenter / girl-about-town managed to land herself a rather fab fashion job with US brand Madewell, the fledgling sister company to J Crew.
Alexa was brought on board to design a range of cool-girl friendly clothes and her first work for the label was unveiled at New York Fashion Week yesterday.

Talking to the Wall Street Journal Alexa said: 'Madewell's vision is kind of the same as mine. They like laidback styles, they like kind of relaxed clothes – classic, timeless things. So when they asked to collaborate, it was a perfect fit.'
And sure enough there were Alexa classics such as short shorts in velvet, matelot tops, college scarves, denim shirts, peg leg trousers and demure tea dresses all worn with little make-up, undone hair and Alexa's favourite footwear, the boy shoe. The overall look was school girl chic (check out those grey socks!) with a 60s vibe.
The range will be available in the US from September this year… Let's hope it crosses the pond soon…
