The stars were out in force for this year's installment of the New York Metropolitan Museum of Art's charity event, which had taken 'American Woman: Fashioning a National Identity' as its theme, and it was glitz and glam galore as they showcased their vintage-inspired delights.

Hosted by revered fashion icon and Vogue editor, Anna Wintour, who greeted the celeb-studded guestlist along with Oprah Winfrey, the event was sure to be one of the fashion highlights of the season.
Full-length gowns were a signature style of the night for everyone from Sarah Jessica Parker in a stunning nude flapper affair, to Kirsten Dunst in an elegant one-shoulder lace dress.
Doing it for the Brits were Emma Watson and a rather dapper Daniel Craig who dazzled in head-to-toe Burberry, and were both hosted at the brand's table by Christopher Bailey.
The ball was also a chance for Hollywood’s golden couples to take a glamorous night out together, with Diane Kruger and Joshua Jackson looking adorable as ever, while Gavin Rossdale and Gwen Stefani also got close on the red carpet, sporting matching slicked-back 'dos.
And if the glamorous guests were ever short of inspiration, the event played host to its annual exhibition of fabulous frocks, this year showcasing styles aging from between 1890 and the 1940s.
