It was the show that had EVERYONE talking last fashion month for reasons that we like to think are fairly self-explanatory...
Yes, we're talking about Moschino's plastic-fantastic SS15 Barbie love-in that saw a host of models don bright blonde wigs, sashay down the catwalk in hot pink outfits co-ordinating to the various activit'es that Babs likes to partake in — roller-skating and aerobics, anyone? — generally having the time of their lives.
It came as no surprise that the fash pack welcomed the kitsch collection with open arms and soon the biggest bloggers, fashion editors and stylists were decked head-to-toe in Barbie's human-sized wardrobe.
Sure, it may look fun but the pieces still carry a very high-end price tag with the now iconic 'Moschino' sweater coming in at £380. Wowza...
However, thanks to high-street fav Zara we can now all live out our Barbie fashion dreams and have enough cash to go out and flaunt our newly bought clobber.
That's right, the fast-fashion giant has created its own [not so subtle] homage to the Jeremy Scott designed range with its new drop of Barbie inspired pieces.
Of course, there's a statement sweater in the mix and although they've flipped the colour palette around — theirs has a white background and hot pink bubble-writing — it's so close to the Moschino original that we doubt even the most seasoned FROW-goer would notice the difference.
If sweatshirts aren't your thing, fear not; the capsule also has t-shirts on offer that are the perfect pairing to your girlfriend jeans or, for a look Barbie would totes approve of, mini skirts.
As we said, the prices aren't tear-inducing either with the tee's coming in at £15.99 and the sweater peaking at £25.99.
Now, all we need is that pink convertible car and the Barbie beach house and our lives will be complete. Not that we're asking for much...
