So, that’s Milan finished, but before Paris Fashion Week starts, we’re thinking we’ve got time to nip to the shops and stock up on a few of the trends we spotted on the catwalk in Italy. Not from the brands that were showing them this week of course – these beautiful garments aren’t available to buy yet – but from the good old British high street. So here, for your convenience, are our top three trends from MFW, and where to buy them right now.
The Metallic Skirt
Seen at Gucci, Pucci, Moschino, Marco de Vincenzo (below)
There’s a bit of a disco vibe going on for SS16 with metallic materials everywhere, but by far the most prevalent was the metallic skirt. Ideally, look for something pleated like this skirt from & Other Stories, or head to Zara for a full pleated silver dress.

The Stripy Coat

Go on, admit it, you’ve got more stripy tops in your wardrobe than you need (#Bretonaddict) so you’re going to love next season. Stripes have been big news in every city so far, and in Milan they looked lovely on long duster-style coats. Get your mitts on one now at good old Toppers.

This is a slow burner trend, already around for AW15 but steaming on full speed for SS16. We LOVE this trend SO much for its versatility, because you can change the way your pinafore looks just by changing what you wear underneath it. Go casual with a plain white T-shirt, on-trend with a ribbed roll neck sweater or smarten the whole look up with a shirt.
