Whether you're doing Gucci's simple knot, Saint Laurent's wraparound or style guru Pernille Agerup's casual side tie, scarves are the must-have accessory this season. And who best to look to than young British artist and designer Emma J Shipley?
If you're after an easy way to inject some bright colour into your new season wardrobe AND hit one of spring's biggest accessories trends at the same time, then Emma J Shipley is the designer you need to know about.
With a SS15 collection inspired by Wes Anderson's dreamy cinematography, Shipley's scarves are a surefire way to give a lift to any everyday outfit. Whether you're after a finishing touch for that weekend outfit or that extra special accessory for the boardroom, these are the scarves for you. Want to know how to wear them? Read on...
One to wear with suede:
I'd wear with... my suede, burnt-red Alexander Wang jacket (remember the neckline when choosing a jacket as you want the scarf to be seen), my denim culottes and slip on Paul Andrew flats. Wrap the scarf right around until you are able to have a neat side tie.
The one to wear navy:
I'd wear with... my navy, cashmere round neck sweater and indigo skinny jeans from Hudson or Koral, grey socks (Item M6 do amazing socks you want to show off) and my Tods burgundy loafers. This scarf is the perfect light weight layering for summer, too - just swap the cashmere for a navy t-shirt (Splendid, T by Wang and Sunspel are at the top of my list).
The one to wear with a jumpsuit:
I'd wear with... my denim APC jumpsuit and my grey Acne brogues now, and in summer a good slider or sandal (nothing bright, let the scarf the job). Look to Cos, Tava, Gucci (with the amazing old school colouring) and New Bark for great sandals this season.
