Tea With Olivia Palermo And Tuna The Dog. Yep This Actually Happened...

Here's what happened when we went to the Jimmy Choo pre fall Choo Hound tea party...

When Sandra Choi, the Creative Director of Jimmy Choo and Olivia Palermo invited us to a tea party  to celebrate the pre fall 2015 Choo Hound capsule collection it didn't take long for us to RSVP with a big, bold YES. Especially when we heard not only were there going to be the new collection to oogle but also plenty of pretty pooches too. This season the brand has teamed up with the Brazilian artist Rafael Mantesso who Creative Director Sandra Choi discovered through Instagram. Following a divorce, Mantesso found himself alone in an empty flat that he decided to fill with his whimsical illustrations. One day his adorable five year old English bull terrier, nicknamed Jimmy Choo plonked himself down in front of one of the sketches and Mantesso Instagrammed it. The next day the same thing happened so Mantesso began to do daily posts and the Instagram sensation was born. When Sandra Choi stumbled across the accout she was so enchanted by the charming drawings that she approached Mantesso directly and asked him to create a series of fun, tongue-in-cheek illustations to decorate a selection of accessories. And thus the Choo Hound collection was born. But of course, a capsule collection wouldn't be anything without a launch party which is why we found ourselves at The Ivy Chelsea Garden yesterday mingling with many the famous hound. Here's what happened...

The setting...

Paying homage to Mantesso's sketches, The Ivy Chelsea Garden (AKA summer's hottest hangout) was given a very chic monochrome makeover. So there was a  monochrome seating, monochrome table settings, a special monochrome flower market, and of course a very cool monochrome doggy water fountain.

We nibbled on...

Towers of salmon bilinis, cucumber sandwiches and truffled chicken pastries were scoffed, not to mention plenty of the moreish miniature carrot cakes, chocolate opera cakes and cream topped scones. The doggie guests didn't go hungry either with bowl after bowl of bone biscuits.

We sipped on...

Traditional afternoon tea was given a twist as steaming pots of Earl Grey tea was served alongside paw prints cappuccinos and slush puppies. While the four legged guests quenched their thirst at the dedicated doggy bar.

Who we say...

Hostess Olivia Palermo welcomed us with a huge smile. Wearing a crisp white blazer, ripped jeans and strutting around in a fabulous pair of Jimmy Choo heels she oozed cool NY perfection. 'My dog Mr. Butler sadly couldn't join be here today,' she explained to us in between sips of tea. 'He's back home in NY. I really miss him. He hates when I go away. Whenever he sees my suitcase he starts to howl.' However, there were plenty of other dogs for Olivia to cuddle including Jimmy Choo who had his own dedicated cushioned bench and photobooth. Elsewhere, Rosie Fortescue was soaking up the sunshine with her miniature Dachshund Noodle while Zara Martin and Bip Ling admired The Hemsley sisters' staffie, Nelly the Blue. Plus bloggers Rosie The Londoner and her Scottish terrier Mr. Custard plus Liberty London Girl and her mini Dachshund Lovely Lettice were hanging out doggy bar. But it was the internet sensation Tuna, the chiweenie (a cross between a Chihuahua and the Dachshund) that garned the most attention. With over 1 million Instagram followers, everyone was after a selfie. Including us...

But most importantly here's what the dogs thought:

Tuna

'My mummy Courtney and I are touring around Europe at the moment as part of my book tour The Underdog With The Overbite. I've been telling Olivia Palermo all about it. I'm having such a fun day. Everyone looks great, especially Jimmy Choo the English Bull terrier who is rocking that floral headband.'

Noodle

'When we're not filming Made In Chelsea, my mummy Rosie (Fortescue) often takes me to snazzy events with her. There's lot of beautiful dogs here today. I've been mainly hanging out with Tuna and indulging in the doggy biscuits.'

Custard AKA Rosie The Londoner's Perfect Pooch

'Today I'm wearing my Jimmy Choo Otis collar in white. I only ever wear Jimmy Choo. It's my mummy's favourite too.'
