New York is one of the best cities for street style photography — models and show-goers in the season’s trends looking at their phones (a classic move) on a backdrop of high-rise buildings and, basic but true, yellow taxis.
We could look at street style all day, every day. It’s pretty much the best thing about fashion month and New York throws up some of the sleekest looks of all the cities.
Before and after shows is prime time to get fashion inspo from the editors, bloggers, journalists and models.
Even on Day 1 NYFW, there were some looks we want to talk about… There are the expected trends; raw hem jeans, frills, pyjama-inspired jumpsuits and wrap coats, wow prints, wide sleeves.
Then there are more statement looks — head-to-toe Gucci, complete with furry backless loafers and neck bow, a camo jacket saying 'I shave my legs for you' and a leather bralette layered over a lace dress.
In fact, there's been a lot of layering inspiration. The new shirt styling way is under a vest or slip dress, and dresses over trousers is a cool look now too.

We’re on bag watch for the whole of fashion month too. The mini hand-held vessels have been reigning in New York, as well as hands-free saddle and shoulder styles. Statement sunglasses are (still) everywhere too.
