Street style is one of the best things about New York Fashion Week — see our favourite looks here

With New York Fashion Week officially in full swing, all eyes are on the street-stylers and what they're wearing this season. A lot of wardrobe lessons can be learned from those pounding the pavements across the four cities during fashion month, so it's worth keeping an eye on them before you purchase your entire Autumn Winter wardrobe.

What we've spotted so far:

A tonne of tailoring. From fashion editors to bloggers, the ladies are power dressing this season in the form of double breasted blazers and two-piece pant suits.

The IT dress. From Magda Butrym to Off-White, these stand-out asymmetrical one-pieces were everywhere over summer and they've made it to fashion week, too. Styled with chunky ankle boots, the fash-pack are dressing them down for that cool-girl spin.

Midi Skirts. The fash-pack are going more girly this season, but they're still keeping this one edgy with asymmetric hems, clashing prints and heavy duty fabrics.

Kitten Heels. The entire InStyle team fell in love with these over the summer and we're thrilled we're not alone. Super chic and no need for a dozen Compeeds, bring it on for Winter.
