How The New York City Ballet's Gala Became The New Fashion Week (Yes, REALLY)

Drawing in a starrier crowd than the FROWs, with killer dresses as far as the eye can see, the NYC ballet is our new favourite place for fashion spotting. Our case in point? Sarah Jessica Parker…

As the last of the Fashion Weeks kicks off in Paris, it goes without saying that all eyes will be firmly fixed on the French capital for the next seven days. However, last night, some seriously glamorous goings on caught our attention. But it wasn’t in Paris…

Yesterday saw the New York City Ballet host it’s annual Fall Gala, and the guest list was as glittering as the dresses the attendees wore. Who was there, you ask? Oh, you know, just the high-priestess of style herself—Sarah Jessica Parker.

She may have kept a pretty low profile during New York Fashion Week at the start of September, but the 50-year-old actress and fashion icon certainly made up for her MIA status with this STUNNING frock.

Wearing a breathtaking Zuhair Murad gown adorned with sequins and sparkles, complete with a split to the front and a cascading add-on train, Carrie Bradshaw herself couldn’t have dreamt up a more gorgeous dress.

Accessorising her jaw-dropping dress with an equally chic Chanel bag and metallic t-bar heels from her namesake SJP Collection shoe range, she was a vision. Simple as that.

Also in attendance was FROW regular Leandra Medine (AKA Man Repeller) who looked achingly cool in her super-wide white trousers and off-the-shoulder black top.

Yep, this is how fashion girls do red carpet dressing.

Fashion offspring Julia Restoin Roitfeld also showed face, rocking a slinky black dress, held in place with an edgy leather belt. We wouldn’t expect anything less from the daughter of the ultra-stylish Carine Roitfeld…

We hate to break it to you Chanel, Balmain and Chloé—the New York City Ballet totally just stole your PFW thunder.
