Valentino has collaborated on a collection with Brazilian flip flop brand, Havaianas. And the price tag might just make your eyes water.
The beach sandals loved by many has come a long way in the 51-years it has been in existence. Starting life as a humble utility brand in the 1960s, when it provided footwear to some of Brazil's poorest people, Havaianas had a fashion overhaul in the '90s. Since then, it has been the only label of flip flops to wear on your feet on holiday.
To date, Matthew Williamson, Missoni and Sass & Bide have all collaborated with Havaianas, and now it's Valentino's go.
The Italian fashion house has designed both a men's and women's range, which will be available from January. The men's collection, first debuted on Valentino's Spring Summer 2014 catwalk, and come in a sophisticated palette of purple, dark green, taupe and navy. A pair will set you back £155. Meanwhile, the crocodile skin version come in at a cool £530
The ladies can choose from neon pink and yellow pairs, or more muted grey and baby pink all on a camo background. The women's collection are slightly more expensive, at £175 a pair.
Although we love Valentino, and Havaianas, can we really justify spending that much on flip flops?
