It’s not every day you get to meet a supermodel. Especially someone as iconic as Cindy Crawford.

When she flew into London to promote OMEGA watches (she’s been their face since 1995), it was with great excitement that I accepted an invitation to interview her.

But what on earth does one wear to interview a supermodel? Answer: it doesn’t really matter because nobody is going to be looking at you when you’re in the presence of an internationally renowned glamazon who looks every bit as hot as she did in the 80s.

Yep, I’m happy to report that Ms Crawford was gorgeous, charming, and super-friendly. She was rocking a laidback, but cool LA look (skinny J Brand jeans, Elizabeth and James gladiator-esque heels, a vest top and a cropped jacket by Rebecca Taylor, with OMEGA watch and jewellery).

“The thing I like about LA style is that it feels very individual,” Ms Crawford told us.  “In New York it’s more about power dressing.”

She admitted she didn’t get time to see any of the recent shows at fashion week: “I’ve been so busy that I didn’t want to spend any more time away from my family.” And shock, horror, she confessed that she hated modelling on the catwalk. “I’ve never liked doing shows. The only thing that was fun for me was reconnecting with all the other models that were my friends,” she said.

And when I eyed up her OMEGA watch from the brand’s Constellation collection (a stylish, silver affair with diamonds inside and outside the face) she smiled and said “Yes, they are real diamonds! But it’s still classic and simple. It has a little bit of bling, but not too much so you don’t feel pretentious.”

Pretentious is not a word we’d ever use to describe the divine Ms C.
