Let's face it, there are a lot of reasons we love Hunter: it's British born and bred, it's our all time festival fav for footwear and now it's got a new Creative Director in the shape of super stylish Alasdhair Willis aka Mr Stella McCartney. So you can only imagine the excitement in the InStyle office when we received word of Hunter's latest opening - their first flagship store on Regent Street. Let's just say we didn't play it cool...
Lead by Creative Director Alasdhair Willis, the 5,300 square ft store is the latest innovation from the recently refurbished Hunter brand. Taking iconic references from the British countryside and adapting them to the urban setting of London, the store is a new take on rural architecture. In English? It's pure Hunter through and through. From a barn structure with bespoke Hunter gates to a dry stone wall displaying the brand's iconic Original Wellington boots and let's not forget the puddle tables with mirror tops, this is one store you won't get bored in.
So what does the Creative Director think? "The Regent Street flagship is the first opportunity for the Hunter customer to enter the home of this iconic British brand. This ambitious new store concept starts to clearly deliver a retail experience that represents the brand's exciting new vision and future."
And after the amazing under water screen projections at Hunter's second show under Willis's direction, it's clear this is a definite Christmas shopping destination. Tech savvy fashionistas wanting dry feet, eat your heart out.
Hunter's flagship store at 83 Regent Street is open now.
