Vivienne Westwood has teamed up with Asos on a new range of ethical bags
Vivienne Westwood is renowned for her political activism and efforts to make our shopping habits more environmentally friendly.
At Christmas, Dame Viv partnered with Lush to bring us reusable wrapping paper in the form of scarves, and now the designer has teamed up with Asos to launch a collection of bags made from recycled goods.
Called Ethical Africa, the new collection uses recycled canvas, leather off-cuts and even roadside banners to create a range of totes, rucksacks and clutches.
But the ethical nature of the bags doesn't stop at their fabrics - the collection was handmade in Nairobi, by women affected by extreme poverty. It's good to know that the creation of this collection helped alleviate poverty in some way, rather than add to it.
Available from mid-January, at a starting price of £58, you're conscience will feel as good as you'll look.
