We didn’t need any convincing that the Lanvin for H&M collection was going to be AMAZE but it sure doesn’t hurt that celebrities including Sofia Coppola, Andie MacDowell and Emma Roberts and designers like Tory Burch and Alexander Wang have been singing its praises.
The A-listers drooled over customised designs by Lanvin designer Alber Elbaz for a special haute couture collection that celebrates the high street label’s latest fashion collaboration. Staged at the ritzy Piere Hotel in New York, the show included re-worked pieces from the collection, which goes on sale in the UK on Tuesday 23 November, modelled by the likes of actress Dree Hemingway, socialite Pixie Geldof and fashionista Anna Dello Russo.
Sofia Coppola said: "I think Alber Elbaz is great, I love what he does at Lanvin, it's so girly and playful and confident. It's so cool he's working with H&M, it makes it so accessible to all kinds of young people to be able to afford it and wear it".
And Andie MacDowell echoed: "I think it's genius. I'm a big fan of Lanvin. I can afford Lanvin and my daughter can afford H&M, and now my daughter's going to have the opportunity to have a little bit more pizzazz.”
After the show, pieces from the haute couture collection and five original sketches by Alber Elbaz went under the hammer, with all the auction proceeds going towards H&M’s All for Children project for UNICEF.
Make sure you don’t miss out on your own little piece of fashion history on 23 November. The Lanvin for H&M collection will be on sale online (from 7am) at www.hm.com and in selected stores nationwide.
