Were the 2015 British Fashion Awards the best yet? With a turnout that featured Karl Lagerfeld, the Beckhams and Eddie and Patsy from Ab Fab, this year's ceremony felt like a pretty big deal. We were there in person to soak up all the action - here are a few things which really made the night for us.
Eddie and Patsy!
These two jokers were back in their fashion heartland last night to present Stella McCartney with the Best British Brand Award. Sauntering on in character with glasses of champagne, Jennifer Saunders (Eddie) said '“I am in my spiritual home. Shout out to all my homies!" before they introduced Stella to the stage. “The winner has literally come from nowhere" said Saunders, "she's been making bags out of the pubic hair of wheatgrass for years... it's Stella McCartney!” Just a little taste of what's to come next year when Ab Fab The Movie hits cinemas in July. We can't wait.
A very rare speech from Karl Lagerfeld
"In my next life I think I'd like to be Choupette" said Karl Lagerfeld's old friend Anna Wintour when she gave a special introduction to the designer, who picked up the Outstanding Achievement award last night. It was a pretty big deal having the Kaiser in town at the awards, given he rarely travels from his home in Paris and isn't fond of giving speeches. "I normally answer questions, I don't really give speeches" he joked, before praising the British Fashion Industry for being less commercially driven.
JW Anderson's double win
The designer, who has had massive success designing for both men and women, scored a record double win last night when he picked up the Best Menswear and Best Womenswear Designer awards. "I'm not sure what to say now!" he said as he came back on stage to collect his second award, but he thanked the British Fashion Industry and praised his "hero" Karl Lagerfeld.
Lady Gaga accepting an award for Tom Ford
The shy and retiring Ms Gaga did a full strut down the catwalk-shaped stage in a long scarlet dress before picking up the Red Carpet award on behalf of Tom Ford, who was absent. "Fashion to me is crucial to my existence" she said before heading on stage, "so everyone here tonight is a part of my religion."
As you'd expect the sartorial bar was pretty high last night, but for us the woman who stole the show was Game Of Thrones star Gwendoline Christie, who wore a gold fishtail dress by her designer boyfriend Giles to pick up a Style Icon award. "I want to thank the person without whom I would quite literally have nothing to wear" she said "Giles Deacon."
