Last night the Walpole Awards celebrated the best in British luxury for the 13th consecutive year.
At a lavish ceremony at the V&A, members of the fashion, beauty and entertainment industries were awarded for their stellar contributions to British luxury which is forecast to be worth £12.2 billion in the next three years.
Amongst them was Stella McCartney who claimed the Corporate Social Responsibility title, while fellow British brand Burberry took home the British Luxury Brand Advertising Campaign award (unsurprising given that at the very same time the brand was unveiling it's new festive ad starring Romeo Beckham). Make-up artist Charlotte Tilbury was given the award for Emerging British Luxury Brand, and shared her expert beauty tips with us afterwards.
Claridge's was award the British Luxury service award, and Bottega Veneta took home International Brand. Meanwhile, the legendary Joan Burstein, founder of Browns, CBE was given the much-deserved Lifetime Achievement Award.
Walpole CEO Michelle Emmerson said: This year, the Walpole British Luxury Awards represent a defining moment in the UK luxury goods industry. British brands have never been more sought-after on a global scale, spurred on by the wealth of creativity, craftsmanship and talent we have, right here in Britain. We are thrilled to be representing this sector and we look forward to building on our partnerships with the brands and cultural institutions that will define British luxury today, and tomorrow.
