The lucky five finalists for this year's Fashion Fringe Accessories competition have just been announced...
The nationwide search to uncover the hottest new up-and-coming design talents has previously launched the careers of Basso and Brooke, Erdem and William Tempest. So, drum roll please, because the esteemed panel has just revealed the talented group who have won their way into the 2009 accessories category top five...
And our congratulations go to Heather Blake, Helen Robotham, Kerri Luft, Monisola Omboso with her label ‘Pamela Pea' and Anna Kichenside with her label ‘Anna', who are getting set to go head-to-head in the most fierce and fabulous of fash-offs.
For the first year ever, the competition has been expanded to include all things accessories, and the prize up for grabs? An exciting apprenticeship alongside Tamara Mellon at Jimmy Choo.
But they have to impress the rather intimidating panel first, lead by honorary chairperson Donatella Versace, and including Fashion Fringe Creative Director Colin McDowell, footwear connoisseur Rupert Sanderson, Head of Accessories at Selfridges, Sebastian Manes, and of course, Tamara herself.
"Bags and shoes are such a driving force in fashion," says Colin McDowell. "I felt we should do our bit to find people who are good at it."
So they'll all be getting ready to put their best foot forward... Let the battle commence!
