The late fashion stylist Isabella Blow’s legendary wardrobe is to go under the hammer at Christie’s in September
Isabella Blow, who died tragically in 2007, was one of fashion’s most famous and stylish names – known both for her inimitable style and her discovery of fashion talent like Sophie Dahl and the late Alexander McQueen, whose entire graduate collection she bought.
Her wardrobe was undoubtably a wonderland, filled with McQueen, yes, but also John Galliano, Manolo Blahnik, Philip Treacy and vintage – and many of it is going on auction at Christie’s on 15 September, including 90 piece by McQueen.
A coffee-table tribute book published by Thames and Hudson will accompany the auction. Two other books about Blow are expected to be published this year: one by her widower Delmar Blow and a biography by the fashion writer Lauren Goldstein Crowe, author of The Jimmy Choo Story.
Visit Christie's for more information on the auction and to view the catalogue.
