Last week I wrote about sale shopping rules, so armed with this mantra, here are my top picks for the last of the sales:
Marc Jacobs Brogues from Net-a-porter, £170. Very big next season so I’m buying into them now to get more wear out of them (the masculine/feminine trend never really goes away)
Striped Breton jersey top from Whistles, £20. I saw a cute Japanese girl wearing the most adorable outfit near Bayswater Tube yesterday – it was a rolled up blue boyfriend jean with a loose Breton top (note for Autumn - boyfriend jeans are on the slimmer side so much easier to wear and more flattering). Very Chanel – maybe she had just been to see the new Coco Before Chanel movie starring Audrey Tatou.
High-waisted pencil skirt from Reiss, £80. A classic style (the high waist is very flattering and drape detail looks expensive) and the lighter colour makes this more modern as opposed to a boring black pencil skirt.
Yves Saint Laurent wool jacket from net-a-porter, , £612.50. When we interviewed Todd Lynn for our August “Shop with the Experts” story he said: “Every woman needs a bit of YSL in their lives.” Once you try a piece of YSL tailoring you’ll definitely agree.
Other websites I recommend are www.theoutnet.com (past Net-a-porter stock) and Browns' Labels for Less, which is about to launch on line with up to 70% off designer stock. Happy bargain shopping!
