After spending almost 12 years walking in Carrie Bradshaw's iconic Manolo Blahniks, if any style maven was going to ace it in design it was always going to be Sarah Jessica Parker.
Of course, we're all familiar with her stellar shoe range SJP Collection which she has been sporting none-stop since its launch last year but now it has been confirmed that Sare has bagged herself a new design role and has already head back to the studio to get started on it...
Teaming up with Fendi, SJP has been been challenged with creating their very own versions of Fendi's iconic 3Baguette bag, with the main goal being to raise handfuls of cash for charity.
The brand's creative director Karl Lagerfeld has called upon Sex and the City star — as well as Rihanna and Jourdan Dunn — to design and interpret her very own Baguette which will then be sold during a live online charity auction, with the proceeds from Sarah's sale going to her organisation of choice, the Brain Trauma Foundation.
Wasting no time in getting to work on her handbag, SJP has shared with us an intimate snap from the exclusive Fendi archives in Rome — talk about doing your homework! And yes, the bags look as hot as you'd expect...
Standing around a table with Baguette's all around, this is our idea of fashion heaven. With embellished, coloured snakeskin, floral and classic styles on display, we still don't know which way Sarah's design is going to go. Though, if we know her — and we think we do — you can be it will be bright, bold and beautiful.
Captioning her shot, Sarah was clearly humbled to be asked to participate in the project: 'It's been a thrill and an honour to work alongside Silvia Fendi and the entire @Fendi team to create my very own version of the iconic Baguette. And I so loved having the opportunity to visit the archives in Rome to help me get started on the creative process. The bag will be auctioned off this February with proceeds going to the Brain Trauma Foundation: braintrauma.org / 3baguetteauction.fendi.com. Know anyone who needs a baguette? X, Sj'
Er, us Sarah. US.
As soon as SJP's design has been unveiled, we'll be sure to let you know.
