Sarah Jessica Parker’s shoe collection is here — and it’s not exactly what you’d expect.
The actress-cum-shoe designer’s new collection for Net-A-Porter is pretty perennial — she's bucked trends for pointed pumps, 1920s look T-bars and Mary-Janes, and it's all very ‘Christmas party season’.
In a quirky business move, the collab was announced earlier this week and now all 16 pairs have launched online.
There’s a clear Carrie aesthetic coming through (if it ain’t broke), with failsafe Manolo Blahnik lookalikes (like the ones she wears to marry Big) called the SJP Windsor Embellished Satin Pumps, that she wore to the Rules Don't Apply premiere with a Dolce & Gabbana dress.
Her own quirky New York style comes through too, in the Tartt Crystal-Embellished Satin Pumps, which she wore in bespoke glittery teal at the 92nd Street Y event where she spoke with longtime pal Andy Cohen.
It’s not a huge surprise. Sarah Jessica’s own designs have always erred on the safe side. Back in 2014, when she collaborated with Manolo CEO George Malkemus, the pair created slingbacks, courts, wedges and espadrilles.
Here are the pairs we’re shopping now…
SJP By Sarah Jessica Parker Windsor Embellished Satin Pumps, £400, Net-A-Porter
Verdict: Anyone who's a SATC fan (so, everyone of all ages) will know the shoes Carrie choses to marry Big - they've become kind of iconic. So, it makes sense that SJP would emulate the design in her own collection, especially having designed with the company's CEO in the past, with the colbalt satin and embellished design.
SJP By Sarah Jessica Parker Tartt Crystal Embellished Satin Pumps, £270, Net-A-Porter
Verdict: We can see ourselves wearing these fun little midi block heels with a sock and a cropped jean for a haven't-really-tried Christmas party look. Clash with orange for a surprising festive look.
SJP By Sarah Jessica Parker Lucille Bow Embellished Satin Pumps, £270, Net-A-Porter
Verdict: Just the right side of basic, these shoes are uber bridal. The bow detail gives them a little fem fun while the design is classic enough to wear to a traditional ceremony.
