Paris Fashion Week continues with full force as the world's hottest designers hit the runways. Get the deets from Viktor & Rolf and Vivienne Westwood from InStyle's Fashion Features Editor Victoria Moss...
Viktor & Rolf can always be relied upon to put on a serious SHOW. For spring they took us into the world of the Hollywood starlet. The models walked out through a giant mirror framing the end of the catwalk and onto the black and white checker board runway. It was a surprisingly commercial show for the duo, featuring eminently wearable and covetable glamour with a capital G pleated goddess gowns in a palate of monochrome and metallics. There were however some of their trademark quirks, sculpted shoulder details, giant mirror-ed floral embellishment, and showing that the trophy knit isn't going anywhere, some rather cute crop tops with 'Viktor' and 'Rolf' emblazoned on them. Keen for one of those to say the least.
Next up was Vivienne Westwood. After the using the Foreign Office HQ for her London Red Label show, Dame Viv is clearly sold on big institutions this season - for her Paris show - she let us all into the British Ambassador's Residence on the Rue St Honore. Understated it wasn't. With Georgia May Jagger looking like a darling Westwood pirate princess on the frow, out came Viv's spring girls. There were gorgeously understated khaki curve clinging shifts with unfinished edges, renaissance prints in reds and golds, knitted metallic bodycon midi length dresses mixed in with a dash of African batique print and not fogetting the one pieces with giant multi colour crystal emebellishment and exaggerated detail on the breasts. A fabulous fashion riot.
