Christophe Decarnin's show for Balmain was sexy, miniskirted, sharp and metallic. Models strutted the runway in lace-up ankle boots in black or olive giving the show a hard, military edge. Burnished gold, skin-tight trousers in leather or shimmering silver and still more trophy jackets with statement shoulders. Oozing insousciant sex appeal, expect these confident pieces to be copied at a store near you soon.
Balenciaga went urban for S/S 2010 with gym skirts, hoodies and chunky open-toed boots. Sleek leather jackets and pleated skirts in black or with panels of grey had a sporty edge and zip details and the models multi-coloured winged eye make-up all contribute to the youthful feel. Skinny trousers came in lime green and citron yellow and the colours appeared again in patchwork dresses and the striped multi-hued printed skirts.
