Gathering in the fourth and final city of Autumn Winter 2013’s mammoth month of shows, models, bloggers, buyers, editors and fashionistas have all arrived in the French capital for a week of presentations from the likes of Balenciaga, Lavin, Balmain, Louis Vuitton, Christian Dior and more at Paris Fashion Week.
This afternoon will see Dries Van Noten and Rochas presentations hit the catwalk before Mugler’s quirky aesthetic takes us into the evening. And for tomorrow? Alarms will be set for Balenciaga at 9.15am, while Carven, Balmain, Nina Ricci and Lanvin follow on in fashionable form.
But which of the Autumn Winter 2013 fashion trends that have emerged in the previous trio of fashion capitals will be cemented in Paris? There’s no doubting another dose of big, bulky coats, as seen at Richard Nicoll, Marni and MaxMara, would be welcomed warmly. As would more paint box colours like those brightening up the runways at JW Anderson, Michael Kors, Sportmax and Versace.
Seen first at – and demonstrated by - Victoria Beckham, bags clasped under the arm were spotted at Marni and Burberry, too. Might Stella McCartney be the fashion designer to try the styling in Paris?
And what of belts? Gianfranco Ferre, Calvin Klein and Marc Jacobs celebrated the accessory. Perhaps a Paris show will see two trends combined, with New York’s rounded shoulders - Proenza Schouler, Tibi, Alexander Wang – belted at the waist.
Only time will tell. Stay tuned to InStyle.co.uk to find out!
