New York Fashion Week just keeps on getting better. We’ve seen simple, minimal and paired down pieces, and yesterday we were treated to colour, sparkle and Korean-style headwear.
Jenny Packham, Donna Karan, Carolina Herrera, Diesel and Marc Jacobs were just some of the designers hitting the runways at New York Fashion Week yesterday.
Here at InStyle we fell head over heels in love with Brit designer Jenny Packham’s collection, having seen quite a lot of fuss-free looks and nude palettes so far, she released the magpie within and gave us plenty of sparkle, shine and movie-star quality to her collection.
Donna Karan went down a (sand) storm with the crowd after she sent her models down a runway coated in a fine layer of sand. She dubbed the collection 'Raw Romance'. Everything had a slightly undone quality, whether it was crinkled, wrinkled or draped.
Marc Jacobs took his inspiration from the 70s and sent his girls down the catwalk wearing lots of colour, prints, halter dresses and strapless jumpsuits slit high enough on the thigh to show off the models' briefs. To top it all off, the girls wore gold glitter platforms, frizzy hair and dramatic eyes.
With the shows today expecting to draw in Hollywood’s finest, we are very much looking forward to seeing what Marc by Marc Jacobs, Elie Tahari, Herve Leger by Max Azria and Vera Wang have to offer.
Keep coming back to InStyle to see all the pictures, from the models on the catwalks to the celebs on the front row.
