Hurrah. The future’s bright. Iconic Brit designer Zandra Rhodes is back with a new line in shoes for spring/summer 2010.
And what a ray of sunshine they are too. Just feast your eyes on these acid pink slashed leather booties, £160, below left. Bang on-trend and as vivid as our Zandra’s fringe, we just couldn’t resist...
But it’s not just about pink, of course; the new range, all in Strutt Couture’s trademark quality leather and suede, are available in yellow, white, turquoise and gold metallic. And look out for Rhodes’s signature clover designs and laser cutouts too.
Rhodes says, 'I wanted to do an affordable colourful collection accessible for a wider audience of Zandra Rhodes admirers. It was particularly exciting designing this collection because I haven’t designed shoes in so long and I believe that it’s shoes that finish an outfit – we are now more aware of footwear than ever before. These shoes will make those that love wearing heels stand out from the crowd.'
For his part, Strutt Couture founder and designer Ian O’Connor says he’s 'absolutely thrilled to be working with a fashion legend'.
And lucky us too. This economic gloom really does seem to have inspired some truly great and exciting work.
So following in the stylish footsteps of Strutt Couture fans (Kate Moss, Sienna Miller), we're looking forward to Strutting our stuff come spring.
