New York Fashion Week got into gear over the weekend with industry heavyweights including Tommy Hilfiger, Zac Posen, Prabal Gurung and Victoria Beckham showing their Spring Summer 2013 collections.
Friday’s highlights included Brit duo Rag & Bone’s cool casual mix of fluid skirts and boyfriend blazers, Helmut Lang’s ocean-inspired collection of pearl and coral-hued separates and masters of mixing print, Suno.
Saturday then got off to a sizzling start with Kate Bosworth hitting up the front row at Prabal Gurung to see Joan Smalls reveal the designer’s more flirty side. Things got flirtier still at Herve Leger by Max Azria before Alexander Wang stripped things back with a leather and zip-filled collection and Altuzarra closed proceedings with rich bronzes and golds fit for the New York warrior.
Victoria Beckham got the fashion pack’s attention first thing on Sunday morning with a more youthful take on her previous collections. It was checks galore at Derek Lam while a more minimalist approach with metallic accents was adopted at DKNY. There was fun on the cards at Diane von Furstenberg with Sarah Jessica Parker lapping up the prints from the front row.
Those suffering with fashion week fatigue were instantly awoken at the sight of Naomi Campbell in fabulous florals at Zac Posen, and Tommy Hilfiger took front-rowers on an American Voyage to close an incredible weekend of shows.
