We’re all about getting ahead with a future trend and 2010 is gearing up to see the return of the name necklace. We spotted Alesha Dixon wearing hers (by Kendi Jewlz) on Fearne and Alesha on ITV2 last month and the lovely Cheryl Cole has sported one in gold on The X Factor.
Plus, Sex and the City 2 is set for release in May 2010 and is just bound to showcase the famous Carrie necklace (with all those 80s flashback scenes, perhaps we’ll get to see its origins?) and new movie Precious (out in January 2010), starring Mariah Carey, even shows the title character wearing a name necklace on the poster!

Everyone from Sarah Harding to Mischa Barton and the stars of Britain’s Next Top Model (who wear Kendi Jewlz’s “flirt” range) are in on the name necklace trend and even the badass Tara (Rutina Wesley) on True Blood – hands-down the best character (well, neck and neck, excuse the pun, with Lafayette) – wears one in the yet-to-be-aired season finale.

To get the look, check out Kendi Jewlz, which offers an array of font styles and finishes. I’ve already ordered my Harriet necklace in sterling silver, £35. Or why not ask Santy Claus for a 14-carat gold name necklace, £98, for a lovely under-the-tree treat come Christmas morning?
