Chloe Moretz, Dakota Fanning and Elizabeth Olsen are the latest celebrities to opt in on the trend for monochrome tailoring…
This week the stars have been shunning bold brights and girlie frocks in favour of sleek, structured separates.
Mum-to-be Kim Kardashian kicked off the craze on The Late Show, choosing for an androgynous look, sporting a tux and houndstooth heels. She then reworked the style again in a cape jacket, skinny cigarette pants, high-neck blouse and stilettos to go front row at Paris Couture Week, and now a flurry of fashionistas have followed suit.
Hitting a Sundance Film Festival photo shoot for their latest flick, Very Good Girls, ingenues Dakota Fanning and Elizabeth Olsen played matchy-matchy in mono tailoring. While Lizzie gave an edgy spin in a pleated Chanel blouse and leather trews by her sisters' fashion label, The Row, worn with over-the-knee Stuart Weitzman boots, Dakota's look was a relaxed combo of silk blouse and harem pants.
Over at the Movie 43 premiere in LA, and teen fashion queen, Chloe Moretz, also checked the trend in a lace-tipped tux suit and matching bib blouse. Rosy make-up and bow-detail heels ensured the outfit was young and fresh.
It seems the boy-meets-girl look is firmly back on the fashion menu for our favourite stars.
