The Milan catwalks were a fest of all that is glossy, sexy glamour, and no more so than at Versace, Dolce & Gabbana and Gucci.

Versace

Glitz, gloss and unadulterated glamour are all Versace signatures and Donatella served them up with gusto at her A/W 2010 show. Goddess gowns in bright white, scene-stealing red and electric blue all featured and there were minute bodycon numbers for the party girls. The designer toyed with tailoring this season and the results included a lust-have wide lapelled coat.

Dolce & Gabbanna

Dolce & Gabbana went back to their classics for A/W 2010 with all the signature pieces we know and love them for. Underwear as outerwear featured with black lace and French knickers on show. There were curve-giving, waist-cinching dresses with built-in corsetry and lush velvet and sexed-up tweed. The collection was Sicilian widow black with a dress in rich red velvet here and a smattering of gold sequins there. Leopard print and polka dots also cropped up.

Gucci

Frida Giannini's show for Gucci had all of the label's Milanese glossy polish and highly sexed atmosphere. There were plenty of Frida's perfectly tailored pants, flared just so and with that straight crease down the front. Eveningwear was feathered, sequinned, embroidered and worn with lace tights and long-haired furry jackets over the top. But there was also a generous amount of slick daywear with suede over-the-knee boots, sharp tailoring and a palette of white, caramel and cappuccino.
