Milan Fashion Week highlights: Moschino Cheap & Chic and D&G

Milan Fashion Week got off to a fun-filled start with Moschino's candy pink Cheap & Chic collection and D&G's sexy cowgirls

Moschino Cheap & Chic

Fashion is 'full of chic', according to Moschino who ran the slogan on a canvas tote! The feel-good show, bursting with oversized daisy jumpsuits, plump white ruffles, candy rainbow stripe T-shirts and a swan playsuit complete with little yellow feet. Colours were loud in monochrome, edible pink and candy.

Lengths were bikini-wax short or dusting the floor. In Moschino land the summer hat resembles a flat daisy, its brim hazy with floppy petals, two-tone shoes are patent and open-weave, bags shouted paintbrush strokes and graffiti slogans such as Shocking! And Fun!

As usual the Moschino Cheap & Chic girl is determinedly looking at the sunny side of life...

D&G

At D&G  cowgirls were not singing the blues. Instead they had a healthy injection of sex appeal, all ruched pannier mini skirts, shrug-on faded denim shirts, brown leather obi belts and studded tasselled boots.

Domenico and Stefano played with patchwork denim playsuits, shorts, and the ruffled skirts of all skirts - in milky white tiers that dusted the floor. It was all pretty ra-ra: punched leather corsetry included. One of the most desirable pieces? The breezy little white lace dress that curled at the hips. Adorable for the cowgirls of summer 2010.
