Day 2 of MFW went technicolour and was awash with bold design and thematic collections.
Drawing inspiration from the English country garden, D&G unveiled a cacophony of florals for its SS11 collection. The runway was in full bloom, lined with flowerbeds of lavender and roses, while the collection showcased floral maxis, gingham playsuits and brightly frilled separates teamed with platform sandals and bandanas.
And if D&G did gardens, Prada went tropical, giving stripes a Latin American feel, adding flounces and frills and clashing colours. Hems went mid-length proving that calf-grazing sundresses are set to be a big trend for SS11.
Meanwhile on Fendi’s runway, colours were a tad more muted with cornflower blues, aqua hues and deep purples working with more pared-down shades of oatmeals and oysters. Cool chic was the feel from the show, as lantern sleeves, belted waists and flowing fabrics sauntered down the catwalk.
And with even more style treats to come from Moschino, Etro and Versace today, check in with us later on to get all the lowdown…
