The O2 arena could be about to become London's newest luxury shopping destination, rivalling Oxfordshire's popular designer outlet, Bicester Village.
The UK's largest property company, Land Securities, has been in talks with owners of the O2 Arena, AEG, about turning a currently disused part of the venue into a shopping centre.
Speaking to the Telegraph, Alistair Wood, senior vice president of real estate and development at AEG said: 'We are strongly of the view that a well-executed and positioned designer outlet village could drive the huge success enjoyed to date at the O2. We welcome Land Securities as our potential partner, who we believe to be an ideal match in terms of track record and skill match.'
Although no details about which designers may stock there wares in this new centre have been divulged, it is hoped brands including Louis Vuitton, Burberry and Dior would be involved.
Our fingers are definitely crossed for this new development...
