Just two years ago Matthew Williamson gave us THE fashion moment of LFW and ensured he had the most talked-about show of the International Fashion Weeks when Prince performed, complete with dancers, on his LFW runway.
However it was back to New York Fashion Week he went for his subsequent shows, until yesterday, that is. The Mancunian designer was back in the capital to be part of the 25 years of London Fashion Week celebration, and boy are we pleased to have him back.
He's a celeb favourite when it comes to glamorous red carpet dressing - from Cheryl Cole to Thandie Newton and Sienna Miller - the A-list can't get enough of his gorgeous designs. Unsuprisingly a roll-call of celebrities sat front row including Yasmin Le Bon, Leigh Lezark, Olivia Palermo, Twiggy and Erin O'Connor, all eager to get a glimpse of his S/S 2010 collection.
Though Williamson initially became known for his bright poppy colours and dresses inspired by Ibiza nightlife, his aller-retour to New York has given his designs polish. There was less of the bohemian traveller and more of the urban sophisticate in his sleek, S/S 2010 pieces.
Our favourite? This pleated pink and purple print chiffon dress with cutaway detail at the waist. Bring on S/S 2010!
