Marks and Spencer has been named as one of the most ethical companies in the world by New York-based research institute, Ethisphere.
A panel comprising leading names in the areas of academia, government and law who are all interested in ethical business practice, have put together the World's Most Ethical Companies list for 2014.
The list, which has been published annually for the past eight years, covers 144 businesses across 41 different indsutries.
M&S joins H&M – which has been appeared on the list for the past three years – as well as Gap and Levi Strauss. L'Oreal and Shiseido were also named in the most ethical beauty companies.
Speaking about being on Ethisphere's list for the fourth time, H&M's CEO Karl-Johan Persson said he was 'proud' and that 'it is a great recognition of H&M's strong ethical approach.'
