Supporting girls' education across the globe is a massively important issue for us ladies here at team InStyle, so imagine how happy we were to discover that sister brand Marie Claire were championing a campaign to help fund the education of little girls the world over. And of course, we wanted to make sure everyone knew about it.
Partnering up with beauty brand L'Occitane and girls education charity Plan International UK, Marie Claire have launched their #ShareTheLight campaign with a very special candle, made exclusively by L'Occitane to support this very important cause.
Celebrities backing the campaign include singer Izzy Bizu, actress Gemma Chan, fashion designer Sophie Hulme, comedian Aisling Bea and presenter Laura Whitmore - all of whom have shared inspiring stories with Marie Claire about the places that have played a big role in their own education.
With 100% of the proceeds from each candle going towards putting one girl through school somewhere across the world, #ShareTheLight is a very worthwhile team to be part of, especially when we tell you that less than a third of school children worldwide are girls, and that there are 33 million fewer girls than boys in primary school across the globe. Staggering isn't it?
You can help change those figures by supporting Marie Claire's #ShareTheLight campaign and buying one of these gorgeous candles for just £8.
Just head to Loccitane.co.uk to buy the Marie Claire candle and follow the hashtag #ShareTheLight.
