Following our first report last week, it looks like the American designer will end his 16-year career at the French fashion house to focus on his eponymous label, but not for at least another season.
This move could involve an initial public listing for the Marc Jacobs International brand, which will come as great news to majority stakeholders and luxury conglomerate, LVMH.
Despite first thoughts that SS14 would be his final collection for Vuitton, Jacobs has since signed on the dotted line for another Autumn Winter 2014 show.
Meanwhile former Balenciaga creative director Nicolas Ghesquiere is still the favourite to replace Jacobs, when his departure does eventually happen.
As if there wasn’t enough reason to keep our eyes peeled on Louis Vuitton's SS14 catwalk show tomorrow, the collection is expected to include a selection of Jacobs’ greatest hits pieces for the label.
Can we really imagine a world where Marc Jacobs isn’t at the helm of Louis Vuitton? JB
