London Fashion Week will welcome another star to its schedule this February – Whistles.
The high street store, known for its contemporary cocktail dresses and directional workwear, will show on schedule for the first time. For the last two seasons, Whistles has shown off-schedule with a presentation in Mayfair and a catwalk show at London's Heron Tower.
But this London Fashion Week, Whistles will showcase its Autumn Winter 2014 collection to a far larger audience, and, no doubt, a host of famous faces sitting in the front row.
Speaking about Whistles' new venture, CEO Jane Shepherdson said: This is a wonderful opportunity for Whistles to show our Autumn Winter ‘14 collection to the global press and buyers. We are very excited to be working with the support of the BFC who have done an incredible job promoting British Fashion.'
But this isn't Jane Shepherdson's first time taking a high street store onto the catwalk. Back in 2005, Jane was responsible for Topshop's London Fashion Week debut, and now, almost ten years later, it's one of the most anticipated shows on the schedule.
We wouldn't be surprised if the same happens to Whistles. Watch this space...
