Christopher Bailey relocated the Burberry Prorsum show from Milan back to London for the S/S 2010 collection and attracted a roll-call of A-listers in the process. Emma Watson, Victoria Beckham, Liv Tyler and Freida Pinto sat front row to check out the delights Bailey had in store for the spring summer season.
A barely-there palette of palest pinks, greys, blues and lemon yellow was worked into delicate dresses with ruffles, drapes and frills hugging the body, skirts and tops all cinched with skinny leather belts. As ever, the trench coat was reworked, this time in pale pink or blue with puffed sleeves and black buttons or fitted to look like dresses.
Roksanda Ilincic's show was full of her usual silk fabrics and luxe glamour this time in nude, almost bronze silk as well as turquoise and black. Double breasted trenches with enormous shoulders, wide-legged pant suits and swishing maxiskirts all made for a grand show.
Peter Pilotto's beautiful sun-bleached prints faded from grey to blue to yellow and green and were fashioned into asymmetric frocks with statement shoulders and fold-over tulip skirts. It was an accomplished show for the young label, and is sure to please girls looking for short and sexy fashion-forward dresses.
Basso & Brooke
Basso & Brooke's models walked against a trippy backdrop of a psychedelic print that set the tone for a show full of digital print dresses in eye-popping prints. Sexy, bodycon shapes and minidresses with voluminous skirts made for a sassy show.
