With the likes of Mulberry, Topshop Unique and the hotly anticipated collection from Mary Katrantzou on the schedule, day 3 of London Fashion Week delivered with every designer.
At Mulberry, a star-studded line up including Alexa Chung, Douglas Booth, Lana Del Rey and Vanessa Kirby filled the front row seats at London's Claridges to see the latest collection.
With a distinctly more grown-up feel to the line, from a stunning butterfly and flower festooned archway, a Midnight Blue Nappa coat over cropped trousers kicked off the new season, followed swiftly by a cocoon cape in leather Oxblood. Dresses and skirts topping leather trousers were key, while outerwear was served up with boucle check accents, bell sleeves and houndstooth jacquards, punctuated by Trompe L'oeil gloves. And for the new season, the Willow tote got a reworking in Midnight Blue Velvet Jacquard, while the clutch came in a rainbow of different shades.
Kate Bosworth brought the chic cool to the Topshop Unique’s Autumn Winter 2013 fashion show, along with the ever-chic Olivia Palermo, while flying the flag for the Brits were One Direction singer Louis Tomlinson, Daisy Lowe and actress Holliday Grainger. Paying homage to elements of quintessential Britishness has emerged as a strong trend for Autumn Winter - even seen at US labels Tommy Hilfiger and Rachel Zoe - and Topshop Unique celebrated its roots, referencing 'real England' in traditional prints and iconic Brit pop 90s silhouettes. Clashing textures in soft hues with pops of scarlet and blue featured in digi prints and heavy knits, while shapes were accentuated and oversized.
Meanwhile at Mary Katrantzou, the new Autumn Winter 2013 collection featured hazily patterned shift dresses and sweeping elliptical hemlines. Loved by the A-list and fashion-pack, no doubt Mary's latest offering will be another must-own collection.
