Hermès, founded in Paris in 1837, celebrates its 175th birthday this year! To mark the occasion, the luxury French brand is staging an exhibition at the Royal Academy of Arts in London.
Its Parisian craftsmen and women have jetted over to demonstrate their art, while exhibits include four unique versions of the Passe-Guide handbag, created as a tribute to the UK. Christie’s is auctioning the bags online to raise money for the academy.
We’ve always dreamed of getting up close and personal with an Hermès Birkin or Kelly handbag – see you at the exhibition, we’ll be the ones drooling!
Leather Forever is at the Royal Academy of Arts, London until 27 May, admission free (royalacademy.org.uk). For further information, visit hermes.com/leather_forever
